After a long hiatus….I’m glad to be back 👍
Track sessions are fun and challenging
Last night was the track session at the Olympic Oval here in #yyc. Quite busy as there were about 3 triathlon groups and some other running groups there. We are now into some longer distances, running @ 10km pace, put getting strong on the side lines. I’m feeling quite good during the sessions, with no shin splints, but still wanting to take it easy to prevent injury. I haven’t been timing my laps, which I guess I was suppose to do, so I had to get my hands on a watch with a lap counter. Ordered from Timex this morning, so hopefully it will come before next Thursday and I can start logging my times for Coach Cal.
Today, Friday on the menu is a swim session. I stayed in on Wednesday evening to just relax therefore I missed my swim practice. Nice to have Fridays off to catch up on things that I may have not been able to get done durning the week.
This weekend will be our first Snowshoe of the season. I have been wanting to SS for a couple years now, and finally I get to do it :) Heading to K-Country for a 3-4 hour shoe….hope I can make it. Lots of gear needed in the next few months to be able to have all the right supplies to participate fully with the CSR group!
Sunday Brick 2/12
No time to sleep in on Sundays anymore! Training is in full swing now, week 3 is over and I am feeling great! Amongst other things, my uniform pants I out on this morning were baggy on me, and one of my regular clients told me I look like I have lost some weight and look really good and happy :):) That’s me….on a mission!! Get my Body Composition results tonight hopefully!
The workout was awesome, with lots of variety! I forgot to wear my heart rate monitor, but I’m sure I burnt at least 500 calories or so in a 3 hour workout ;-) Probably more close to 2000!!!! Feeling pretty good today, which tells me that I am getting stronger, my stretching and yoga is paying off.
Goal this week: YOGA 3 times this week!!!! One down, 2 more to go.
On a side note: I’m starting to get excited about the HOLIDAYS!!! :) Christmas music already on the radio!!!!
Triathlon is a great sport with great people!
Track night was challenging once again, with the longer distance runs being the least of them. As I was hopping up the concrete stairs a thought came to mind…I will have to remember the difficulty of these exercises, and hope that in a couple of months they will seem easier as my strength increases!
There were lots of clubs at the track and it was so great to see my old club mates with Kronos Tri Club. Seeing all of them made me feel like a bit of a trader, going to a different Triathlon training group, but it’s what I needed to do. I’m making new friends, but will always cherish all the friends I have made through this wonderful sport! Looking forward to all the good times ahead; today and I the future!!!
Excited and scared!
Got my body composition test done tonight before swim practice. I’m excited to see where I am starting at, but also scared about the body fat % that I will have. On the positive side, I will be motivated to get that number down as low as I can before Aug 26, 2012 when I will be racing in my first IRONMAN, Ironman Canada :)
IT’s hump day!!
Last nights bike workout was awesome! Great workout with a little bit of everything, including lots of laughs, which can be a great break from all the sweat dripping down your face :)
Day 2 in a row of Mysore Yoga….only hit snooze once then laid in bed debating getting up for only about 5 minutes, then dragged my butt out from under the warm covers to head outside into the cold temps to get some much needed stretching and de-stressing. My goal right now with yoga is to just go slow, pay attention to body position and stretch, not worrying about getting through a whole bunch of asanas.
